Throwing Stars - Shurikens

The term shuriken orginated from the Japanese meaning sword hidden in hand.   Shurikens were used by the Japanese as a concealed weapon.

In the Western hemisphere the shuriken are more commonly known as "throwing stars", "ninja stars" and "Chinese stars".  The Hira Shuriken (the throwing star with holes) had aerodynamic and weighting effects that aided to flight of the blade when thrown.   Making them perfect for practicing your throw.
